History: Maple Shine was born to the she-cat Dandelion Mask after having lost two litters. She and her sister were seen as a blessing from The Tribe of Endless Hunting. However because of this their sire Sparrow Swoop was at times over protective of she and her littermate. Despite Dandelion Mask's losses she did not smother Maple Shine or her sister.
When they, she and her sister, were eight moons and ready to exit the cave for the first time Sparrow Swoop tried to forbid it. Dandelion Mask stood up and growled at him, "They are old enough, big enough, and aware enough to be weary of the dangers outside this cave. They have to go out sometime Sparrow Swoop." Yet the argument never tainted the two cats love for one another. Instead Sparrow Swoop went out of the cave with them to keep a close watch for danger.
Maple Shine scented a mouse. Her sister was the one to catch it and bring it back to the cave where they shared prey with others of the Tribe.
When their mother was expectant Maple Shine and her sister were the first and foremost to provide prey for her. With the help of Sparrow Swoop it was rare they ever came back without something. Until the most recent leafbare when their younger brother turned but five moons old. Maple Shine, her sister, and their father Sparrow Swoop had begun to grow weaker as they hunted, but always made sure that Dandelion Mask and their younger brother had prey to share first before themselves.
Then The Teller of The Pointed Stones left for The Tribe of Endless Hunting and a new Stoneteller took over their role. Soon a decision had to be made. Before any more lives were lost. Yet it was not up to Maple Shade to demand a way to help them survive. Instead she waited for the wisdom of their newly appointed Stoneteller.

Roleplay Sample: Maple Shine's ears folded back. She dipped her head as her shoulders sagged and closed her eyes. "I never thought it would come to this. We'll all die if something isn't done soon."
Upon opening her eyes she stared down at the body of Stoneteller. No longer would they guide them, the cat who had been Stoneteller before she herself had even been born. Now another would take the place of their beloved Stoneteller's role within the Tribe, a she-cat who had already been chosen as their successor.
As the sunset outside the cave, her voice did not rise. Silence for the dead that moon-high showed respect for a cat on the path to The Tribe of Endless Hunting.
